SLED Charges Aiken County Man with Assault & Battery and Resisting Arrest

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Grady Lafone Owenby, 51, with two counts of Assault & Battery – 1st Degree and two counts of Resisting Arrest on Monday, March 9, 2026. The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office requested the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Owenby was booked into the Aiken County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 2nd Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
