SLED Charges Berkeley County Woman with Lottery Fraud in Two South Carolina Counties

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Denise Antionette Maxwell, 35, with two counts of Intent to Defraud, Counterfeit Game Tickets on Wednesday, January 14, 2026.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Maxwell was booked into the Charleston County Detention Center.
The charges will be prosecuted by the 9th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
On Thursday, January 15, 2026, Maxwell was transported from the Charleston County Detention Center to the Dorchester County Detention Center and charged with two counts of Intent to Defraud, Counterfeit Game Tickets.

The charges will be prosecuted by the 1st Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
The four charges stem from one case, which covers two counties. The South Carolina Education Lottery requested the SLED investigation.
