SLED Charges Calhoun County Woman with Insurance Fraud

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Cheyanne Renee Fortney, 20, with Presenting a False Claim for Insurance Payment - Value More than $2,000 but Less Than $10,000 on Friday, August 22, 2025. The South Carolina Department of Insurance requested the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrant.
Fortney was booked at the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.
The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Department of Insurance.
