SLED Charges Charleston County Man with Insurance Fraud

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Forrest Young Putnam, 34, with Obtaining Property Under False Pretenses - value $10,000 or more, Forgery - value $10,000 or more, and Computer Crime Act - value exceeding $10,000 - First Degree on Friday, June 20, 2025. The South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce requested the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Putnam was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County.
The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.
