SLED charges Cherokee County man with assault & battery first degree and unlawful dissemination of obscene material to a person under 18 years of age

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Jerry Scott Payne, 52, with Assault & Battery - 1st Degree and Unlawful to Disseminate Obscene Material to Person Under 18 Years of Age on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office requested the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Brown was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center.
This case will be prosecuted by the 7th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
