SLED Charges Former Custody Officer with Abuse of a Vulnerable Adult

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Shawn Henry Fitzhugh Sr., 33, with Abuse of a Vulnerable Adult on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. The SLED investigation was requested by Wellpath Recovery Solutions.
Details can be found in the attached warrant.
Fitzhugh Sr. was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County.
The case will be prosecuted by the 5th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
