SLED Charges Former Darlington Police Sergeant with Breach of Trust and Misconduct in Office

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Mark Anthony Hayes, Jr., 39, with Breach of Trust with Fraudulent Intent - value more than $2,000 but less than $10,000 and Misconduct in Office on Thursday, April 17, 2025. The SLED investigation was requested by the Darlington Police Department.
Details can be found in the attached warrant.
Hayes was booked into the Darlington County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 4th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
