SLED Charges Former SC State Agency Employee with Breach of Trust and Obtaining Property under False Pretenses

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Steven Dewitt Clough, 65, with Breach of Trust with Fraudulent Intent - value more than $2,000 but less than $10,000, Obtaining Property Under False Pretenses - value $2,000 or less, and Obtaining Property Under False Pretenses - value more than $2,000 but less than $10,000 on Monday, June 23, 2025. The SLED investigation was requested by the South Carolina State Inspector General.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Clough was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
