SLED charges former SC State Student with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Melvin Anthony Williams, 21, with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
The SLED investigation was requested by South Carolina State University Police Department.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Williams was booked into the Orangeburg County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 1st Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
