SLED Charges Lexington County Man with Insurance Fraud

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Renwick Maurice Bates, 56, with Forgery - value less than $10,000 and Presenting False Claim for Insurance Payment - valued more than $2,000 but less than $10,000 on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. The South Carolina Department of Insurance requested the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Bates was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Department of Insurance.
