SLED Charges Richland County Man with Threatening the Life of a Public Official

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Dewayne Simmons, 57, with Threatening the Life of a Public Official on Thursday, June 4, 2026.  

Details can be found in the attached warrant. 

Simmons was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County. 

The case will be prosecuted by the 5th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
