SLED Charges Subject of York County Officer Involved Shooting with Resisting Arrest, Pointing and Presenting a Firearm

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Jerry Wayne McFalls, 42, with Resisting Arrest with a Deadly Weapon – 1st Offense, as well as Pointing and Presenting a Firearm at a Person on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. McFalls is the subject of the officer involved shooting that occurred on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 in York County. The York County Sheriff’s Office requested the SLED investigation. SLED’s investigation is active and ongoing at this time. 

Details can be found in the attached warrants. 

McFalls was booked into the York County Detention Center. 

The case will be prosecuted by the 16th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
