SLED Charges Two Richland County Residents with Insurance Fraud

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Ashley Miller, 35, with Obtaining Property Under False Tokens - More than $2,000 but Less Than $10,000 and Forgery - Value Less Than $10,000 on Friday, May 29, 2026.
SLED also charged Shakil Naji Rameen Miller, 36, with Obtaining Property Under False Tokens - More than $2,000 but Less Than $10,000 on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, as part of the investigation. The Richland County Sheriff’s Department requested the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Ashley Miller was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Centerin Richland County. The case will be prosecuted by the 5th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
Shakil Miller was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center. The case will be prosecuted by the 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
