SLED Helps Rescue 33 Dogs, Arrests Two Horry County Residents in Dogfighting Investigation

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Prentice Shiobhan Jackson, 47, with 33 Counts of Ill Treatment of Animals, 16 counts of Animal Fighting or Baiting, and Criminal Conspiracy on Wednesday, April 15, 2026.
SLED also charged Rontisha Elena Huggins-Jackson, 48, with Criminal Conspiracy on Wednesday, April 156, 2026.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Both Jackson and Huggins-Jackson were booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Horry County.
The case will be prosecuted by the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
SLED was assisted by the Horry County Police Department and animal rescue partners.
