SLED Seeks Information as Investigation Continues into Shots Fired at DNR Officer

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) continues to investigate a shooting that occurred in Edgefield County.
During the early morning hours on December 28, 2025, shots were fired at a Department of Natural Resources (DNR) officer after he attempted a traffic stop involving a suspicious vehicle.
The DNR officer was not injured, but his truck was struck multiple times, and the subject drove off. Photos of the truck are attached to this news release.
