Monday, Mar 31, 2025
As three wildfires burn across South Carolina, SLED continues to assist our statewide partners on the frontline. In an effort to help suppress the Table Rock Complex wildfire, SLED’s Aviation Unit conducted approximately 320 Bambi Bucket drops between March 22 and March 29, delivering around 102,400 gallons of water over 34 hours of flight time.
SLED pilots also conducted aerial surveillance for the South Carolina Forestry Commission, locating the boundaries and the movement of the fire. According to the South Carolina Forestry Commission, three active wildfires are currently burning across the state: the Table Rock Complex Fire, the Persimmon Ridge Fire, and the Covington Drive Fire. There are a total of 23 wildfires recognized in South Carolina right now.
If you or someone you care about have been impacted by the fires, find evacuation guidelines, community resources, and other safety updates by following Pickens County and Greenville County on Facebook and/or by calling (864) 467-3428.
