SLED charges 2 Saluda County men in 2018 Ridge Spring Murder

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Derrick Cyrus, Jr., 30, with Accessory After the Fact to Murder on Monday, April 8, 2024. SLED charged Earl Eugene Valentine, Jr., 24, with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
Details can be found in the attached warrants. Cyrus and Valentine were booked at the Saluda County Detention Center.
SLED was requested by the Ridge Spring Police Department to assist in the death investigation of James Patrick Kinard, 39, on October 19, 2018.
The case will be prosecuted by the 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
