SLED charges former Cheraw police dept. officer with felony sexual extortion and misconduct in office

Agents with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Justin Brian McKenzie, 40, with Felony Sexual Extortion – 1st Offense and Misconduct in Office on Thursday, February 22, 2024. Chief Julius Riley of the Cheraw Police Department requested the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrants. McKenzie was booked at the Chesterfield County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 4th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
