SLED charges Greenville County man with Aggravated Breach of Peace, Cruelty to a Police Dog, and Resisting Arrest with a Deadly Weapon

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged James Edgar Hopkins IV, 51, with Aggravated Breach of Peace, Cruelty to a Police Dog, and Resisting Arrest with a Deadly Weapon on Monday, June 2, 2024.

Details can be found in the attached warrants.

The case will be prosecuted by the 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

SLED was requested by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office to investigate an officer involved shooting on May 13, 2024. SLED’s investigation is active and ongoing.
