SLED Charges Hampton County Man with Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon, and Failure to Stop for Blue Lights

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Lamarcus Oneal Mays, 24, with Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon – 1st Offense, and Failure to Stop for a Blue Light – 1st Offense on Monday, July 21, 2025. The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office requested the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Mays was booked into the Jasper County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 14th Circuit Solicitor’s office.
