SLED charges Horry County man following officer involved shooting

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Neil Wade Brown, 60, with the following offenses on Friday, September 13, 2024:

  • Burglary, First Degree
  • Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature
  • 4 counts of Assault & Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature
  • 2 counts of Discharging of a Firearm Into an Occupied Dwelling
  • 4 counts of Pointing and/or Presenting a Firearm
  • Aggravated Breach of Peace
  • 2 counts of Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime

Details can be found in the attached warrants.

Brown was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center in Horry County.

The SLED investigation was requested by the Horry County Police Department. SLED’s investigation is active and ongoing.

The case will be prosecuted by the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
