SLED Charges Marlboro County Man with Insurance Fraud

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Thomas Scott Nowland Jr., 46, with Presenting a False Claim for Insurance Payment - Value More Than $2,000 but Less Than $10,000 on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. The South Carolina Department of Insurance requested the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrant.
Nowland Jr. was booked into the Marlboro County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Department of Insurance.
