SLED charges Orangeburg County man with vehicle crimes

Monday, Mar 3, 2025

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Jahwar Kimbrough, 31, with Possession of a Stolen Vehicle valued at more than $10,000, Breach of Trust for more than $2,000 but less than $10,000, and Possession of a Vehicle with an Altered VIN on February 19, 2025.

The SLED investigation was the result of an earlier case in Lake Wales, FL, where SLED assisted the Lake Wales Police Department with locating a Ford F-450 truck stolen from a dealership. This case later developed into an investigation in Orangeburg, SC, involving a chop shop. The investigation found that multiple stolen trucks were being used to illegally take other vehicles and equipment from North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.

Details can be found in the attached warrant.

Kimbrough was booked into the Alvin S Glenn Detention Center.

The case will be prosecuted by the 5th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
