SLED Charges Orangeburg County Woman with Attempted Murder and Other Crimes Following Blue Alert

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Lacey Nicole Cushman, 37, with Failure to Stop For a Blue Light – 1st Offense, Attempted Murder, Assault & Battery of a High and Aggravated Nature, Pointing and Presenting Firearms at a Person, Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Violent Crime, Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Convicted of Certain Crimes – 1st Offense, on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. The SLED investigation was requested by the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Cushman was booked into the Barnwell County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 2nd Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
