SLED Charges Pickens County Woman with Forgery and Insurance Fraud

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Jakena Edreka Barton, 47, with two counts of Forgery - value less than $10,000 and Presenting a False Claim for Insurance Payment - value $10,000 or more on Friday, April 25, 2025. The South Carolina Department of Insurance requested the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Barton was booked into the Pickens County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Department of Insurance.
