SLED Charges Richland County Man with Fraudulent Application for a Driver’s License and Financial Identity Fraud as Part of an Ongoing Investigation

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Ricky Romelo Harris Jr., 51, with Fraudulent Application for a Driver’s License and Financial Identity Fraud on Thursday, April 9, 2026. The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles requested the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Harris Jr. was booked into Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County.
The case will be prosecuted by the 5th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
Harris is the last of seven people taken into custody in connection with an ongoing investigation.
