The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Joshua Colton Johnson, 32, with Resisting Arrest with Violence, two counts of Unlawful Taking of a Firearm or Weapon from a Law Enforcement Officer, and two counts of Assault and Battery 2nd degree on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. Johnson is the subject in an officer involved shooting that happened on Thursday, July 25, 2024. SLED’s investigation is active and ongoing.

Johnson was booked into the Aiken County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 2nd Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
