SLED Charges Sumter County Man with Insurance Fraud

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Jakeem Jamal Samuel, 21, with Presenting a False Claim for Insurance Payment - Value $10,000 or More on Thursday, February 26, 2026. The South Carolina Department of Insurance requested the SLED investigation.

Details can be found in the attached warrant.

Samuel was served at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center where he is being held on unrelated charges.

The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Department of Insurance.

Samuel was one of three defendants named in the arrest warrant.

SLED charged Jamari Pringle, 19, with Presenting a False Claim for Insurance Payment - Value $10,000 or More on Thursday, October 9, 2025.

SLED also charged Ulanda Yarborough, 44, with Presenting a False Claim for Insurance Payment - Value $10,000 or More on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
