SLED charges three 17-year-olds following attempted murder in Bamberg County

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Michael Leon Kearse, Jr., 17, with five counts of Attempted Murder, two counts of Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle, and two counts of Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime. SLED also charged Tavion Ramontre James, 17, with five counts of Attempted Murder and two counts of Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle. And SLED charged Cedric Jaiden Walker, 17, with Accessory After the Fact to Attempted Murder. Kearse, Jr., James, and Walker were charged on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
The SLED investigation was requested by the Denmark Police Department.

Kearse, Jr., James, and Walker were booked into the Bamberg County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 2nd Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
