SLED Charges Two Marion County Men as Dogfighting Investigation Continues

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Harold Leonidas Young II, 41, with Criminal Conspiracy, five counts of Animal Fighting or Baiting, and two counts of Ill Treatment of Animals on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
SLED also charged Lance Denitri Mack, 48, with Criminal Conspiracy on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Marion Police Department assisted in the SLED investigation.
Details for Young and Mack can be found in the attached warrants.
Both Young and Mack were booked into the Marion County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.
These charges are in connection with a multi-county operation conducted by SLED and assisting agencies on April 7, 2025, regarding dogfighting in the Pee Dee Region.
