SLED charges two people in Darlington County with multiple counts of criminal conspiracy and identity fraud

Agents with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged John Richard Newsome, 39, and Barbara Ann Bedenbaugh, 35, each with 4 counts of Criminal Conspiracy and 4 counts of Financial Identity Fraud on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Bedenbaugh and Newsome were booked at the Darlington County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 4th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
