SLED charges two people with sex crimes involving a minor in Hampton County

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Michael James Carr, 56, with two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor - First Degree and Permitting a Minor to Engage in an Act in Violation of Obscenity Laws. SLED also charged Jordan Niccole Soto, 25, with Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. Both were charged on Monday, March 17, 2025. The SLED investigation was requested by the Hampton Police Department.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Carr and Soto were both booked into the Hampton County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 14th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
